Second place. Not really where you want to be in September.
On the bright side…you know what? I don’t see much of a bright side. Yes, the Cubs have an easier schedule the rest of the way than Milwaukee. Yes, they’re only a game back. But if they don’t start playing better, none of that will matter. Gotta win this game against St. Louis. Soriano likes him some Joel Piniero, while the Cards will be missing Ted Lilly killer Juan Encarnacion. It’s a must win. Lose, and the Cubs might be tied for second place, two games back (if the Cards win today and the Brewers win tomorrow).

It will be the Cubs easy this year. Weak pitching will not matter because the Cards and Brewers have no pitching either. Carlos will save the day.
